Low coolant light problem ???

Hello all, im having a weird problem with my low coolant light. it comes on sometimes so i figred it was the coolant level sensor,, i bought a new one from the dealership and its doing the same thing,,,, when the car is running and i unplug the coolant sensor, the low coolant light and the low windsheild fluid light come one,,,,,,, when i plug it back in they both go off,, then after about 20 seconds the low coolant light comes on again,, and this happens with both my old coolant level sensor and the new one,,, :S

does anybody have any idea???

thanks a lot..

Mike

Replace the windshield fluid level sensor too. They're run in series to save a wire, with the controller logic determining which one is really triggered (they have different resistances when reading low). But if a sensor goes bad, its resistance goes out of spec and confuses the controller into thinking the other sensor is triggered low.

Bottom line: always replace these sensors in pairs.

I hope they have re designed the location of the sensor, on my 92 SEL you have to remove the front bumper and/or head lamp housing to get at it.
