S500 Coupe
SRS Light
I have a 1995 S500 coupe. My parents have the S420 (W140). They have experienced the probleme with the SRS light being on longer than it is supposed to. For instance, mine used to go off in about 30 seconds, now it takes about 3-5minutes. Does anyone else have this same problem? Thanks in advance

Same Here
I have the same problem on my 1995 S420. It started just a couple of weeks ago when it got cold and started snowing. When the outside temperature is warmer, it does not do it. When it gets cold, on comes the light.
PS: My exterior lamp problem light is also on now. But I checked all my lamps and each and every one of them work. Stupid intrument panel lights are bugging me now.

There are usually two possible reasons for an SRS light staying on:
1. a bad connection between the airbag contact ring behind the horn pad on the steering wheel.
2. you could also have a failure of the seat belt latch. You will have to get the codes checked to know which one.
