sluggish idle and cuts of at times. horrible gas smell
i have a 1996 s500 and it runs perfect when you first cranck it up and after a minit it starts to cut off and a horrible gas smell starts to come from it. its almost impossible to be inside or outside the car when its running. when i punch it to the floor most of the time it will not respond for a few seconds and then all of a sudden it will just kick in like nitrous.. the car was running perfect untill i let it sit up for about 2month.

TOP END SPEED WANTED
I ALSO HAVE A 2002 S430 BENZ. TOP SPEED IS ONLY 131.HOW CAN I TURN THE COMPUTER OR THE POWER UP TO REACH SPEEDS AROUND AT LEAST 140-145MPH

It sounds like you might have a clogged fuel filter from letting it sit for a couple of months. try to change that first, then check the fuel pump.
