Thumbs up What is the diffrence between S320, S420, S500, S600?

Is there any difference between w140 - S320, S420, S500, and S600?
Or the only difference is the engines?
Do they have same functions and electric toys?

Thank you!

A reasonable place to start:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_W140

Engine is main difference; slightly more powered doo-dads as the price rises.

600's usually come with every option. Other than that its just a matter of engine options and what goodies did the car get ordered or come with. Oh yeah, Short wheel base and Long wheel base models are another option to look for. My father in 94' ordered a s420 with every option you could select with the long wheels base. He wanted all the options of a 600 but said he didn't need the engine. One option he couldn't get though that was on the 600 only was the stitch leather.

The most important difference is 320's & 420's have a standard suspension (coils) & 500's & 600's have adjustable.

Not so in europe. S600 has hydraulic self levelling rear suspension. S500 has coil suspension which may be adjustable.

Forme the ride of the S600 with this suspension is a huge difference.

Is there big difference when driving S320 and s600?
Is S320 not comfortable or what is the point?

The S500 and S600 both had self-leveling rear suspension.

The S600 just simply rides better than the S320.

Coil suspension? Oh boy........
