Limp take off

Limp take off
I have a 1994 s420 that is a physically beautiful car but it's fustrating me, it simply has no take off whatsoever. I replaced the engine harness, cam adjustment magnets,total tune up, had the tranny rebuilt with a new valve body to no avail. The car seems to work better for the first 15 minutes or so and then starts loosing power. At higher speeds the car runs ok but you still dont get that torque when you step on the accelerator. There isn't any hard starting, rough idling, stalling or back firing.

Dear Vic,
Have you verified that you are starting off in low gear? Every once in a great while my s600 will get into a mode where it remains in a higher gear. It does not fix itself as long as the car is running. Manully shifting into low does not change it. My fix is simply restarting the car. It must reset the computer and then it is fixed.

OK Jim, I would keep that in mine, someone a trained tech said that it maybe a bad air flow meter which I am going to try first since I have access to one and then I would go from there, You may just be right because I was never really happy with the trann.
