how do I pick the later models
Hi all,
I'm looking at getting my first benz and would like a w140, either the s320, s420 or s500. Now I've read that the 97-99 are the better ones to get reliability wise, I think they had the updated wiring harness and the better AC evap.
Are there any external standard options that will tell these apart from the older models. I know the update in 95 gave clear indicators but anything else to look for?
Are the side airbags and the 5 speed tranny on the 97+ ones only?

do you search for cars by just looking at pictures?!?
they should say what year it is in the description, and if nothing else just put the VIN into carfax and it will tell you what model year it is before it asks you to pay

I do look at the year on them as well as the pictures, but it was more for the 97 models when the change over occured. Also being in australia the years that it got released here may be a little different so I was looking for a way to be more certain than what they've written down in the ads.
