looking for some advice.
my 97 S 500 is in need of a rear shock for the second time in 2 years, last time i paid about $800 for the parts alon plus labor. the car has the load leveling system.
it looks like the Hydraulic pump is leaking as well and I've had to patch up and replace some sections of Hydraulic pipes under the frame. at this point rather then sinking several $K into the car i'm looking into changing the rear shocks to standard shocks. I heard of some W140 owners doing such a conversion but I have no idea on what part # and or make of shocks to use.
any help or feedback would be appreciated
