I was wondering this too... I never actually tried searching the forums yet, shoulda done that 1st, but I think there were a couple of s-classes that did that... I was going to ask the stealership for a second opinion tomorrow.

I thought when they changed the control they also changed the two piece console piece to a one piece. I dont recall any posts on doing it.

Reviving another oldie. Has anyone ever done this? THere was a mention on Benzworld that this topic was discussed here. I've been searching but haven't had any luck finding a thread.

yes it can be done but you need to check if the two cable connector is the same (normally yes)

I don't like my 99 digital.The fan up button don't work,you have to hit Auto for it to come on high.Then you can back down with button.
The fan button must be East German.

Count the pins. They aren't the same so no it won't work. One is 27 and the Other is 30.
