Two seats in the rear with console and extra seat adjustments.
Experts and experienced MBers. ()
I am interested in the 4 seat S-car sedans and am currently in the middle of a purchase - a buyers prepurchase inspection is scheduled for tomorrow; likely to make my decision in less than 48 hours and have it shipped half way across the country without actually seeing the car in person (yes, , I know...). But THAT'S how much I adore the two rear bucket seat version, and I'm guessing that the rear console is made of unobtainium otherwise this awesome configuration would have made it to more showrooms. But what do I know? () Not much apparently.
So, how common are these creatures, and have you seen them in any cars other than the V12s? Since I'm only searching for the 600 models I've not noticed.
Soon to own my first MB ever, and it has to be a 90's S600.

I know one thing...those 600's are expensive to maintain! Just wait until you need to replace what seems to be a minor/easy job..the alternator!
The body repair costs', interior, are just about the same as the others...500/400, etc. but the cost to engine related items is...is....just plain dumb! When you start buying a car over 10/12 years old, seals, gaskets are worn or will be shortly, vaccum lines get brittle and on and on....good luck with yours!

It's an ultra rare option on the w140's, and usually only found on the V12's, but occasionally on the V8's. I found that many with the option are "gray market" vehicles imported into the US. Get newest, lowest mileage, best maintained W140 you can afford. Make sure the all known issues have been addressed: Wring harness, evaporator, suspension bushings, accumulators, shocks, if it has any warning lights on when vehicle is running, that is probably the reason the car is for sale <grin>
