Hi i have a 93' 300se with blown motor, dont ask.
I found a 1990 300ce motor, will this be a direct fit, or will I need to find the right motor.

do not know much about mercedes. I do not want to get rid of it, just rebuilt tranny. so yeah.

here is the motor i found, the guy told me it wont fit, so what motors will fit?

Many will fit but "fit" is the wrong question. You need an engine that will "work". It needs to be a 92 or 93 300SE with 3.2 liter LH 104 motor, that is one with the same engine managment system, diagnostic system, electronic transmission control, etc. Engine swaps are no longer mechanical matters.

thank you sir, yes one that will "work". It seems it must be a 3.2 m104. it looks like the m104 came in 3.0 2.8 and 3.2. I guess the one I need must be a 3.2 from a 300se only(or can it come from another model car, same engine size). Iam still verifying, thank you for the response.

u need signals from engine revs to change speed in auto trans, plus only God knows what else they ask.
Or Yank the whole eng & tranny out just put an older 300 sd engine & tran in it.
Then u may have no speedo, rev counter to see.

I once had a 85 500sel, they did the conversion from Lala land, wish they had the turbo in it, they only drop a reg 300d in it. The acceleration was not faster than Escargot.

Or else u take the tranny from the donour car plus computer for injection.
Then your emission?
