Alloy wheel paint coating

Hi,
The plastic silver paint coating on my Mercedes wheels is starting to peel away at the edges. Can this be repaired our painted over?

Hey,
This problem you are describing seems to be a common
problem. I know a few MB dealers here in Orlando, that
take alot of trades from people who live on the coast.
Apparently what is pealing on your rims is the clear coat.
Depending how bad it has become, it might now be the
paint. To remedy this, you can take it to a shop that
does body/paint work to get them fixed. They should
remove the tires, sand down the rims, then paint them
with the factory color code (they should be able to get
this for you). Then and most important, make sure they
put a clear coat on top. I know of some shops here that
do this process all day long for $40-50US. It should not
be that bad. Hope this helps.
