I'm new to the forum and I was trying to get some information on how to fix up my used Benz. I have 92 500 SEL that blows fuses for the turn signal every time I use them and it also blows the fuse for the windshield wipers/headrest motors. Has anyone ever worked on the bladder for the front seats either I hear a hole in mine and would like to get a new one installed. Thank you all for your time.

I have the same vehicle: make, year and model. Spent 5K in parts this year alone restoring it. My cr has 80K original miles.
Seat problem. Been their done that.
No easy repair...
you need to remove the seat and that's a process in itself! If you are not mechanically inclined...don't mess with it.
The first thing is to unclip the seat belt retractor...when you slide the seat back or forward..the belt slides up or down on the pillar...it moves via a wire that is routed into a clip holder in the front of the seat (driver's side is located on the left bottom near the bolt holding the seat to the floorboard). Then you have to slide the seat toward the front and access the rest of the wire for the seat belt from the rear..disconnecting the reat clip. You'll have to remove the plastic covers to access the clips.
Once the wire is removed...the rest is easy.
Remove the 4 bolts holding the seat in place...tip the seat back and start removing the plastic covers to access the plastic tubing for the seat bladder....the tubes could just be loose, could be broken or split...any number of problems. You'll need to figure it out.
I gave up on tracing the problem and instead went to the junk yard and bought two seats out of a 98 S class and installed them. Seats cost me 250 each...500 for the pair.
As for the blown fuses....could be this or that whatsyoumacallit or thingamajig. Another words...unless you have a test light and car electrical knowledge..(which I think you don't have because you're asking for help on this forum)...take it to an electrical shop/tech WHO works on Benz's!!
DO NOT go to any 'ol shop that works on electrical problems....because if they have NO knowledge of Benz's...you will pay big money for them guessing what the problem is!

I didn't want to start tearing into the car with my fluke and start isolating cause that's time consuming. I was hoping someone already had this problem figured out lol. From what I have read it seems to be capacitors in the cluster which isn't the original from what I'm noticing. I will be taking the dash apart this weekend and trying to isolate the short and or ground to fix it or replace the part. Thanks for the bladder help and I will be trying that next weekend on my 4 days off. How long have you owned your 500?
