So i just got a new fresh coat of pain on my S500. Before taking it in, the AC was great, other than a few seconds delay when i first turned on the vehicle. Now, when i turn the car on, the AC blows for a second then dead. The console controls work, and shows the AC to be on, but No air. Any Ideas? Someone told me I need a new console control device.

My understanding is cabin filter will blow out resistor on fan if dirty.I have same problem but I have defrost works on high.I believe its just like a w126 problem.Parts are high over $200 for resistor.Found some on Ebay for $70.

Well, I've already replaced the resistor before. I believe it may be the actual AC Control on the dash that is faulty. Now it works fine. (fixed itself!)

The resistor needs to be replaced when the fan stops at speed 3 or 4, and wont blow at max speed.

Duh I had Auto turned off.. AC is fine
