'91 w140 600sel
600 sel gearbox problem
Hello,
Since a couple of days i'm experiencing a problem with my '91 s-class. When driving normally the car now always accelerates in 1st gear (in stead of second) even when i accelerate extremely slowly. It also stays in 1st revving up to 4/5 k rpm unless i release the peddle for an instant an then press it gently again. It does this for every gear.
The only ting i can think of that changed in the past few days is the cold weather. (About 8 degrees centigrate below zero) .
Has anyone ever heard of this problem? Please let me now because driving 30 kph in crowded traffic gets a whole new difficulty factor with more than 400 bhp and a v12 at 3,5k rpm in 1st.
Car has run 297k km (about 180000 miles) has never had a problem and has always been maintained on time by the official dealer
