1995 S600, what options will I be missing vs 1998?
Hi guy,
I'm looking at a 1995 two-tone S600 with 125kMiles on it (202k Km), in very clean condition with history, for 10K$ asking price.
Including suspensions differences, and computers (for traction) differences, what are the main differences that an 98 or 99 S600 would have more, over the 1995 model?
Thanks a lot!

1999 S500 Grand Edition
In addition to the wiring harness, AC Evap problems with '95 and older( $3k+ fix). '95 & older = 4 speed auto transmission, '96 and newer = 5 speed automatic.
It is generally agreed that the newer the W140 the better but they are all expensive to maintain. The $10k purchase price is probably half of the purchase in the first 4 years of ownership.
Awesome cars to drive, but they are a low purchase prices for a reason. Higher mileage with well documented service and maintenance is better than low mileage without all of that. I learned that one the hard way!
I bought my 99 S500 with 67k miles on it and I have dropped around $11k on repairs in 18 months. Mostly suspension work and the crazy pneumatic locking system. Those are all things that the W140s of any engine size eventually have to have done. Mine just happened all at once due to neglect by previous owners.
Good luck!
