Estimation of repairs on a S600

Hey guys, I just had these repair price estimations on a 98 S600
I am not willing to buy the car yet, HOWEVER, this exercice was made to establish a scale in my mind on how much would these repairs cost.

These pricing include the price of labour and the pieces that are beeing changed:

What do you think about it?

Serpentine Belt + Belt tensioner : 756 $

Upper & Lower control arms (with bushings) on both sides + ball joints: 2093 $

Engine mounts : 907 $

Are these resonable prices for the 600?

Ps: the total cost would be arorund 3820$ for the V12, and just for the fun of it I asked how much would that cost if it was on a S420 same year.. guess how much.. 3431$

From this I can conclude to a ROUUUGH estimation that other than pieces that are doubled on a 600, repairs on it is arround 10% to 15% more expensive than on a 420 !!

I do know that most buy parts on line....way cheaper and either DIY or find a decent MB tech to make a house call.
Same with the front end parts. Any alignment shop can help you and most indy shops can also. Changing front end parts is not difficult for most shops.
The prices you were quoted are way to high.
You need to shop around and order on line.
Sometimes even body shops can help you out...they replace front end parts all the time due to accidents.

Thanks!
So you're suggesting that the regular repairs for ex. suspension (control arms, ball joints etc..) are usualy done as good in a regular shop than a specialized mercedes shop! Ok I guess that'll be the same for the engine mounts since it's common on any car.
Yeah I see what you mean about the fact that it's expensive! specialy the suspension repair: I guess parts would be around 700-800$ alone and the rest is labour? tht makes for 20 hours of labour !! yeaah that's way too much !
So the things that'll be left for a mercedes shop would be stuff like the ETA !?

If it was my car....I would only be using a "specialize MB shop for some serious problem." Front end parts can be done at most any repair shop...ask the shop if they can do the repairs first.
Specialize MB shops for serious engine repairs.
Shop around, ask the shop questions....
