Ok,

A. The V12 Biturbo you are talking about was never offered in a W140 Chassis. That motor was only offered in a the W220 (2003+) and W221 S Class sedans. The V12 biturbo is a beast of a motor but sadly reliability of Mercedes Benz between 2000 and 2005/2006 is less than stellar. The car especially early models 2003 to 2004 have lots of problems and the most expensive of which is the ABC system.

B. The W140 V12 torque is fantastic but the HP is not that much more than the 500 unless you go 1994 or earlier which I believe was 410 HP compared to 390HP. The 99 S500 was I believe rated around 315HP. The issue with the W140 V12 motor is that it really stuffs the engine bay and cause lots of parts and wiring harnesses to get much hotter than they need to be. Melting of wiring is very common in the V12 S600 W140. The only reason to go for a S600 W140 in my opion is the unbelieveable amount of Burlwood Trim all of which can be added to a S500 for minimal cost now as I have done and the power rear seats as that was very rare on W140 S500s.

With that all being said, I would go for a 99 S600 Coupe or Sedan with low miles one owner in a heart beat due to the rareity of that car but thats the only W140 S600 I would truely consider.

Your opinion is respected and your knowledge of the S500 was impressive. I will look into adding the extra wood, just wondering could you send me a link for more info about the rear power seats and cost.
Thanks Again!
