identifying class with VIN no.
hi all
i'm a new member to this board
i just wanted to know how to identify s class benzes by their vin numbers, if that is possible
because i have seen tonnes of S320's that have S500 or even S600 badges on them and the only way for me to know what they really are is by opening the hood

It would be easier to simply open the hood and look at the engine to see if it is a straight 6, V8, or V12.
Besides, the 92 and 93's are misbadged. The 300SE(L) and 400SE(L) have a 3.2 liter engine and 4.2 liter engine, respectively. The same engine that 94-99 S320's and S420's have.
