Thank you
Been a lurker for some time, but needed to register to make this post of thanks. My previous E420 utilized much of the information to keep its 4000 mile per month quota going through 325,000 and is still going.
Bought a 1999 S420 yesterday to add to the driveway. Car is in great condition for a southern or west coast car, nevermind a New England car.
Anyway, the car did have a couple issues which I used to 'haggle' on the asking price knowing full well what the worst case scenario could be.
Anyway I digress, through posts here I was able to quickly determine that my A/C blower was not junk as I had previously thought and was able to get the blast of cold air going 20 minutes after I had read a post on the subject (clogged filter kept too much moisture in blower cavity). I have no dillusions that I will eventually need to replace it, I am just happy it is not today.
Also, the door assist feature was not working on two of the doors. A post by Brett and a link to http://v12uberalles.com/Closing_Assist_Pump.htm helped to explain in detail the system, guided a diagnosis, correct the issue and (hopefully) finalized a quick repair to that system.
Now for some necessary baseline maintenance items, a re-balancing of the wheels and we are good to go.
Thank you to the members of the board.
