Hey all, here's my situation. My dad wants to give me his '97 S420 with 160K miles. Beautiful car (almost flawless), black on black, purchased new and maintained by the dealer. I just noticed another poster mentioning that he spent about $2500 a year on maintenance on his 140. What do you guys suppose you spend on maint. per year? $2500 seems awful high to me. I know it's a crap shoot with this kind of mileage but thought I'd see if there was a consensus. haha, I know, silly. It would replace a trouble free '97 LS400 with 160K. Thanks.

sounds like he used a dealership.AC unit give problems after high mileage.It can be expensive to repair.I seen one guy spend $6000 on a new unit.But every part was new.I think the V8s still need a new timing chain.
