RD :
Two years ago I went to Naples Florida for a four month vacation. After a couple of weeks I realised I needed a car as there is no public transportation and no sidewalks. Way to expensive to rent a car, so I bought a 1980 Pontiac Bonneville out of the local paper.
Great looking car, big as a tank but ran poorly. Had a 301 ci pontiac motor. I did a driveway tune up. Replaced the distributor, rotor, high tension plug wires, plugs, air filter, oil and oil filter.
Car ran way better but...... still had a bit of roughness. Got a spark plug tester, very cheap, and tested the plugs and high tension wires. Guess what, one of the brand new plugs was faulty, right out of the box. Replaced the plug and the car was a rocket. Drove the car for 4 months in Florida then to Montreal, and then accross Canada to Vancouver. Still running great when I gave it to the local high school auto repair program.

So you never know.
