1995 w140 s500 OIL WEIGHT Question.
Hello everybody. I have a 1995 s500 w140 with 98000 miles. I live in omaha nebraska so hot summers and cold winters. I was wondering which oil weight i should use. I bought mobile one 5w30 but i am having seconds thoughts. Which weight should i use. Thanks in advance

I run diesel rated oils in all my vehicles.I use 15-40w oil in spring thru fall.5w40 sync diesel oil in winter.

1997 S320 LWB
I am currently using 5w30 high mileage oil in my s320 and noticing that i can hear a tapping sound every once in a while. I was told by my mechanic that its worn lifters causing this sound. Im going to switch to 10w40 which is my the recommended oil for my car. Hopefully the thicker oil will reduce the annoying tapping sound.

Mine taps when oil is thin when hot.But 20w 50 caused my filter to collapse.Thats why I go know higher than 40 w.
