500 sel ac issue

Hello All, So im having some problems with my ac in my 1993 SEL500. I dont know what chassis it is but the vin is WDBGA51E9PA086527. The other day the AC quit working on me. When you turn it on the compressor kicks on for just a second and then goes back off. Took it to a local shop and of course they dont know jack about mercedes, all they could tell me for sure was that its full of refridgerant. I dont even know where to begin on this car. Ive always shyed away from working on it but no one here knows anything about the car and I just cant afford to put in the shop at the dealership. If its something simpleish im more than capable its just diagnosing it at this point. Im not at all scared to work on cars, hell I went to school for auto repair for two years but this isnt a cat, its a spaceship!lol. Less technology went into the lunar landings........Anyway can somebody point me in the right direction? I was thinking about running a hot wire to the compressor clutch to see if it will run like that so I can verify that the system will or will not produce cold air. Also my windshield wipers sometimes work, and sometimes they dont. Would love to fix that little issue while im at it. Thank

Well I straight wired the ac clutch and it kicked on and blew cold so I know the system is functioning but of course I don't want to run it like that. I just need some help diagnosing the problem. Like I said its full of refrigerant and blows cold. What could possibly be the problem. Clearly it's some type of pretection circuitry. What systems are in place that would shut the ac compressor down? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Wow I figured sombody Here would know something about these cars. I think I'm just gonna sell it. Nobody knows anything about it and no one will point me in the right direction. https://m.facebook.com/home.php?refi...00000474874738
I'm pretty sure it's a 140 chassis but I can't be sure cause the plate on the radiator only has numbers no words but one of the numbers is 140 so I'm not sure.
