$7500 1992 300se 209k????
I have a somewhat addictive obsession with this car and do not know if it would be rational to make this purchase. I've always wanted this car, but 209k is alot of mileage. The car looks, sounds, and drives great. What do you guys think? Would most of the major potential problems have been replaced at 209k miles? Thanks in advance for your help!

Well, I have seen some with half a million miles on and still running. But things might had changed when it came to quality control. If you could take it to a MB shop to have them to check out everything is in working order, then I would be more comfortable to buy it. However, if something failed,you should expect a big bill for repair unless you could find a honest mechanic to work on it. It is totally up to you and how much you want this particular one. I have a 1992 300se with 213,000 ks (got with 196,000)
runs like a dream now that I have done a few things to it and put a new set of tyres on.
I looked for the comon faults, e.g. lower control arm bushes leading to shimmyimng etc and had those checked out.
I'd also watch out for the CD Stacker/Bose Amp issue, otherwise I've had no issues.
My MB mechanic says at 200k they are jst run in!!!
I'd buy mine again tomorrow
