floats like a boat
My 1993 600SEL tends to float and be some what bouncy over highway bumps. I tried the standard push down on the shock test, but this tank wont budge. When I asked the dealer they said the shocks look fine but would gladly replace them, As far as I can tell there are no aftermarket shocks for the adaptive dampening system. But Bilsteins make them in a standard configuration. Can and or should they be replaced with out the OEM system?
Any opinions??????????

All the W140 floats, and as it ages, the problem will get worse (at least when we had our S500). The S600 do have the ADS system (the button with a shock icon) that will stiffen up the suspension, so you should try that and see if that helps.
