service questions

i have a 97 s500.... i bought 3 month ago with 75k... the car i bought it from belonged to a man who passed away...his nephew sold it to me.... i know there is some service at 60k.....i am not sure if the guy did that, since after 50(warranty expires) he took it to an import place...

can someone tell me what to service or change now that the car has 75k...and would one be able to tell if something was changed like spark plugs, fluids..once the car has been driven for few thousand miles...?

Last question.....what kind of oil are you guys using in your w140...synthetic? 5w-40? regular...

thanks in advance

service question

Ghost:

I have my maintenance booklet in front of me. Do you have one of these?
The book indicates lubrication service at 67,500 miles, and Maintenance service at 75,000 miles. There is 5 pages of things to be done at 75,000. The book is suposed to be filled in as work is done.
I have heard that when the service is done at the dealer they upload the information, on to the cars computer indicating the work was completed. I don't know if this is true or not.

Some dealers are notoriously known to lose your service booklet for some reasons. I have mine lost twice, but on the coupe I gave them a hard time and they got me a new one and stamped the pages based on my recordes in their computer.
