Thumbs up

Hehe, well first of all, is there a kit or are you custom making one? Basically if you do forced induction right, its all pros . The only negatives would be lower gas mileage if you get on it more, but we have the 500s, gas mileage wasn't a factor in that purchase, and also potentially more wear on the engine which varies with how much boost you run. Also, you could experience higher operating temperature, but the MB does a pretty good job keeping the temperatures in line. Basically, just go for it and be sure to take lots of pictures, do a before and after dyno, and let me know who makes it!

I'd wonder how well the computer reacts to the addiction of boost to the motor. I'd assume it has no way of truely measuring the added pressure(boost) and then no way to compensate fuel properly. Guess a FMU could be used as a band aid though.

LH Jetronic capability

As far as I know, our cars use a Bosch LH Jetronic ECU, which is quite capable of handling a supercharger. I know a guy who has a 928 that is running 11lbs of boost, on an otherwise stock car. The 85+ 928s use an LH, and all hes added to compensate for the fuel is an FMU. So, all you need to compensate is an FMU, otherwise known as a boost sensitive fuel pressure regulator. I believe his is 13:1, or thereabouts. But does anyone offer a kit for our cars, or has anyone custom made one? I'm dying to see the dyno and pictures of that!

gas mileage

Gas milage really isn't a factor. Actually forced induction increases gas milage is used and installed correctly. I have a 98 S-420 that has a supercharger and it makes a lot of difference. In gas mileage it doesn't make to much of a difference but it increses by about one mpg or so. I thinkyou should go ahead and do it. What kind of system are you going to use? If u do it right u will have one badass car. Which model do you have and what engine is in it? I had to put low compression pistons in and new internals for the engine when i put the high-boost pulley on my car but im running high-level psi and if i didnt change them they would shoot out of the engine when i got on it. I fully encourage you to go ahead and do the project though. hope I helped you

yea it's very tough to find kits for mercedes I got mine from vortech they custom made it. But you should search on google and try to find somethin, especially if you dont want to spend 4000 on one
