Exclamation **S500 NO reverse**

As of late, my 95 has been hesitating and having trouble 'finding' the right gear. Well I think the final straw has broken the camel's back. I was at Starbucks and put the car into reverse and nothing happens. It will rev to 1500 rpm and not move. Does the transmission need to be rebuilt? IF so, how much are we talking here? Thanks guys

1995 S500 150k miles.

my dad had the same problem with a 97 s500 he just got. the car couldn't find reverse so he had to buy a new transmission from mercedes i think it costed him about 1500 give or take. then again my dad was parts and service director of the place at the time so i think thats about 30 % off. if ur car rolls like its in neutral {when u have it in reverse} it might be salvageable but unlikely.
im not a mechanic by the way.

i dont know if that means somethings caught or its just how it is eaither way the safe bet is to get a new transmission. unless u can take ur transmission apart and see whats goin on in there. it might be able to be fixed.u should find a mechanic that knows mercedes.

Hello , what is the normal temp for a 95 320 ? i noticed it go up to 110 but under the red mark.. not sure if i should be concerned? its usually around 80-90 but never really noticed it recently.
