No heat, faded side trim...
Here's a couple S500 q's:
1. With fully finctioning A/C, any reason why the heat will not blow hot? I'm assuming it's a vacuum operated door of some sort. Thoughts?
2. Any suggestions on renewing the faded anodized window trim to bring it back from bronze to black? Is there a good manual showing thier removal?
Thanks a million!

The water flow through the heater core is controlled by two devices; the mono valve and the circulator pump. If either of them is faulty, that could cause your problem. Try running the heat and feel the circulator for vibration (operation). You don't have to run the engine while you test it, but run it prior to the test so the water is heated up.

I don't remember the name, but I think there is a chrome polish that is specifically made to polish this type of oxidation. You may want to check out your local Pepboys or Automotive shops and see what kind of product is available in your area.

Mono Valve
Thanks for the info... the heat problem was the mono valve. Got it taken care of.
Still looking for the solution to the trim issue. I don't really want to remove it and have it re-anodized because this car has never been apart and I like it that way.

Agree. I also like the bronze patina color. On my S, it matches my Smoke Silver paint very nicely. On my 95 C280 the bronze compliments my Emerald Green paint. I just use Meguiars car polish, and then wax to keep it nice and shiny!
