Serpentine belt making noise plus...Memory code assistance

Just replaced the engine in my 1993 Mercedes Benz 500 SEL. I'm now hearing noise from the belt, I checked the pulleys and they seem to be fine. I also replaced the "oil sending " unit, but the red light is on and it's reading "hot," yet the car is running "cool" (not hot). In addition, the ABS light is on. As far as memory codes are concerned, I need an OBD1 Reader, I priced one, but they're way too expensive. Does anyone know a less expensive way to RESET my memory codes? This is my first time on The Forum, and I could really use your H E L P!!!!
