clicking noise on cold start

1995 s500 wald mercedes coupe
clicking noise on cold start
When I start my 1995 S500 COUPE from cold, it starts first click however the first 3 to 5 minutes of idleing is accompanied by a clicking - almost as if a fan or something is brushing against something else. If I turn the engine off then start it again the noise is no longer there. I cannot see anything visually - any ideas as to what may cause this?

hyd. lifters do this,you might try thicker oil,or replace oilers in the valve area.They are made of plastic,and break over time.
