strange noise
Hi all,
Today my 97 S600 started having noises coming out of the center speaker (behind rear view mirror). There's a constant whizzing noise on top of a classic whizzing noise that's driven by the accelerator, both are there regardless of stereo being on our off when the ignition is on. Any ideas?

1997 S600 Sedan
Stange noise
I had the exact same noise when I first acquired my 1997 S600 last year. The problem was the small fan that draws in sampling air through the grill in the overhead light console panel. That fan and sensor is used to determine the inside air temperature for the A/C system. I easily replaced the fan sensor device and have not had any abnormal squealing sounds since. Originally I tried to lubricate the fans shaft, but that was a waste of time. Good luck with the fix. And totally enjoy the pleasure of a S600.
