S320 project
I accidentally posted this in the forum a minute ago so here it is again in the right spot (hopefully)!
I was searching Craigslist and came across a 1997 S320W for $800. The car is at an auto shop and the owner of the shop is selling it because the owner of the car can't afford to pay to repair it. I haven't had a chance to take a look at it yet but the mechanic says the frame is straight and it runs and drives. It needs a hood, fenders, bumper, headlights and probably a radiator because he said it might be leaking coolant from the wreck. Are there any smaller parts like sensors or any important or pricey parts hidden? The title is clean and it has 126k on it. Do you guys think it would be worth it to fix it up and sell it? Here is the ad
The ad says 95 but I called the guy up and he said its a 97

What else should I be concerned about? I did a VIN check and it looks clean. I'm not too experienced and it would take some work obviously. I just thought I would be able to make a few extra bucks and help me gain some experience. If you guys know and websites where I can find parts for it fairly cheap it would help me out. Thanks in advance. Oh, and I really don't want to part it out.

1999 S500 Grand Edition
Checking on autotrader a similiar S320 ready to drive is around $5k.
There is not a lot of after market support for these cars like a BMW or Porsche.
Seems like building one out of a wreck would cost more than that. If you are a DIY, you can part out the wreck and make some money.
That is probably all it is good for.
