auxiliary heater

As I understand, there is an auxiliary heater at W140 S-class in
some countries. The timer for this heater is located above the
air condition control panel. I heard that it can be operated by a
remote control also.

Anybody knows the detail?

Heater /AC

The 600s had a seperate heater and air conditioner located in the console under the arm rest standard. There are right, left, and fan speed controls for the rear seat. The fan can also be set to auto, the wheels select the temp. This was optional on the 500s and started in 92.

That is right,

Eberspächer heater is available with timer in cold countries like ours ( Finland ).

The heater uses gas or diesel and heats the engine and interior.

New diesels have this as a standard equipment because there is not enough engine heat available for interior left in the engine due to good efficiency.

Thanks for your posts.

The auxiliary heater is not for the rear seat.
It is totally independent from engine heat.
It used to be available at W140 S-class in some cold countries.
It had a small digital timer .

But this is all I know.
Anybody knows more?

Yes you can control it by remote with a telephone. the things you need is a customized "beeper" (not har to get) , then you just plug it in. then you just make a usual call like when you call a human that has a "beeper" and the heater starts to heat your beutiful W-140 S-class

In my coupe, there is a REST button by the climate control. When activated, it uses the engine heat to warm up the interior of the car so you wouldn't have to come back to a cold car. I don't know if that's what you meant.
