Exclamation V8, V12 Brake retrofit on 6cyl W140 possible?

hey guys are there differences in the rotor sizes between the 6cyl and 8cyl brakes? My rotors are definately warped and pads are almost gone so i figure if i can get a set of stock ones that are larger it would really help braking b/c W140s are by no means that good at stopping. anyone have a clue?

another option is to just get bleed and flush brake lines and put in super blue and then get the Performance friction Carbon Metallic pads.

same brake disc from S280 to S600 LWB

140 421 09 12 replaced with 140 421 10 12 -

note - "only sets with a blue D are to be used, sets without a blue D are to be scrapped."

ditto caliper

the new s class has the front brakes at the back, the w140 has them at the front - so probably different mounting system etc etc

might be worth a look - and use the left on the right etc (to get the bleed valve on the top)

i have no idea what the last post was about but it would be an easy swap if there is a difference. You would need calipers and cal brackets that attach the the spindle, also look into seeing if the brake pump is different. Im upgrading my car to 750 brakes which are 3mm thicker and 1cm bigger, along with ss lines, and i already have super blue in .

Look at mbz junk yards for the calipers then send them to a local shop for a rebiuild on the seals then paint em'

I do believe the 600 has bigger brakes then the 320, check specs with a magazine like motortrend to see if they have specs

thats kinda weird if they are all the same, b/c the weight differences are huge. The reason i asked was because on ebay they have aftermarket performance rotors but it says they are only for the 400-600 models not the 6cyl. Thats why i asked.

740- ya i hear ya, alot of guys did similar things with 328/M3 or M3 to E46 330 brakes, all it required was caliper, caliper spindle and rotors to do the swap. that in addition to aftermarket pads would really help braking. but if i can just enhance stock system by bleeding brakes and getting aftermarket pads and fluid that would be much more cost effective.

thanks for help guys

i checked the mercedes electronics parts catalogue. as per the dealers.

the part number is the same for the brakes irrespective of wether its a 320 or a 600. its the same part number - but the part number changed at some point - and the 'old' non marked items are no longer to be used for some reason.

i thought it was clear enough..

what about a 600's master cylinder? Might be different. Also id get some stainless steel lines, im buying mine off of tirerack.com under accessories. As far as rotors go id stick with solid (but vented) rotors or slotted, stay away from cross drilled- im sure youve heard all they are good for is looks and crack and warp easily... ate makes a good slotted rotor called the power slot check via tirerack.com

master cyls get a lot more complex

blah up to year blah - but only without code 867 (whatever that is..)
blah from year blah to ablh WITh 867

004 430 75 01
005 430 65 01
005 430 78 01

are s320 cyls

005 430 40 01
005 430 55 01
005 430 69 01

again yabbers on about years and option codes.

so - yes masters are different - but be careful - might not be that simple...
