Replacing 97 MB S320 front bumper cover
I had repaired the existing bumper cover( BC) but when ran the BC into one of those high concrete parking stops. I damaged it again. I decided to replace the BC with an aftermarket BC from the autowharehouse. First I got the correct part number from my MB dealer. I call the autowharehouse and asked them for a replacement at a cost of $279. The women that took my order first wanted to get me a BC with parktronics. My car doesn't have that feature. She double checked the part number I gave her and she located the correct BC and shipped it to me. It took a couple weeks and arrived in a huge cardboard box.
The new BC looked really good and complete but you need to reuse the side mounting pieces and trim from the old BC. The holes in the BC for the chrome trim all did not line up. I had to elongate two holes on each side. Other than that it went back on the car pretty good. I had a little problem getting the driver side side piece into the mounting bracket. I needed my son to lift and push it in for the studs to line up with those holes. Otherwise it waas a good fit
