s320 advice
Hi, I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I am considering the purchase of an s320 and have two choices. The first one is a light blue s/ parchment interior 1994 s320 with 75K for about $11K vs. a 1997 s320 black on black LWB for around 17-18K (82K miles). The price difference is substantial between the models, one is the SWB model vs the LWB model and obviously the color differences. I would appreciate any opinions on this topic. Thanks in advance.

hmmm - swb 94 - no side airbags presumably? less desirable colour
97 was one of the better yeras, in black (nice with tinted windows) with black leather (doesnt show up dirt / marks) - but a lwb so SLIGHTLY less to the gallon - but will retain value imho.
94 also MAY have problems with air con. usually fixed by 97.
320 good economical choice, but still enough power to move it. the 420 and 500 are faster - but you arn't a boy racer...
iirc a 97 will have asr and self levelling etc etc. a much better car.

I have 1993 300SE (SWB) and i love it. there aren't many things that have gone wrong with it, the only thing that was substantial was one of the AC fan's went out but that was replace. the SWB is not necisarily bad, its alot easier to manuver and SWB do weigh 44kg less (like 100lbs about). back leg room is not nearly as great though, LWB feels like a limo, SWB feels like regular car. however for $11k that is a steal. The 6cyl motors are a great motor and sound great with intakes. you can make power though, and if you really wanted you could get the 94 and get Mosselman twin turbo kit and that would give equal performance to S600 for still less than the 97 S320. so its up to you. honestly these cars are so well built they last forever. The only thing i need to replace on my car now is stock suspensions (70K and original suspension is almost gone). hope that helps.
