S600 1999 trunk handle
Everything seems to work except the trunk handle does not stay sucked in after trunk is closed. It goes in OK but after a bit I find it is out again. Is there a failing diaphragm at the handle mechanism? anybody troubleshoot this handle problem? there is tons written on vacuum pumps but nothing specific to the handle on S600 140's.

I Have heard of sealing leaks with GOOP glue

When mine did this it was a broken nipple on the PSE pump under the rear seat. Nipple was broken and leaking pressure but had not blown the hose off. It was broken just above the barb and the barb was intact. I had good success with gluing the tip of the hose back on the barb and using a new o-ring. Search for a pump diagram so you know which hose it is then check that hose. When you have someone close your trunk can you hear air hissing? Does it change if you push down on it a bit while its working?
