Hot climate (New Orleans) engine oil for '93 300SD

The car has 120k miles on it with what seems to be minimal oil burn. The previous owner was a mechanic out of San Antonio and used it as his personal car.

Currently the car has 15w30 in it, but I am not sure if it is natural or synthetic.

Any recommendations for engine oil (synthetic or conventional) for a hot/humid climate like New Orleans.

Thank you very much!

JP
