1999 S320 Oil Leak

I have a newly found oil leak coming from behind the alternator on the passenger side. I have tried to research causes, but have not been able to find and/or identify of what exactly is leaking The leak occurs after about 5 minutes of idle when the oil warms up, and continues for sometime after the engine is shut down. Anyone had this issue or know what is causing the leak? Thanks in advance for any help/advice.SaveSave

I had to replace the timing cover with a new improved version of the metal cover, and of course new gasket. This fixed it all up from dripping on the floor - an associated problem on my s320 was the steering box leakage which was also irritating until the $3K part arrived from Germany and the $3K labor bill was paid for all the work - I think this also included a new valve cover gasket and fan belt after some contamination with coolant while they were working on it.

After this much time you must know the gaskets are going to give way - and I'm not even going to mention the head gasket as you are likely already aware of the M104 engine and this requirement.
