Hey guys, man i just did oil change at benz dealer. I they put int 20w-50. the car is an absolute dog. feels like i lost 30HP. oil makes a huge difference in the performance of the engine. I highly recommend going to a 10w-30 or 5w-30. just my 2 cents

ya, it really feels crummy now. all that power i gained from intake seems lost. oh well. my main concern now is the M3, benz is just daily driver.

I though you had to use 20w50 for bmws and mercedes' since 10 or 5w30 is too thin for their engines... you are not getting any lifter tick with thinner oil? I have always used 20w50.. should I switch down to 10 or 5 w30???

no way. thicker oils suck *****. I'm runnin 0w-30 synthetic on my M3. it is thinner but that doesnt mean less protection (common misconception). Mobil 1 0w-30 synthetic is probably the best oil on the market. 10w-30 synthetic is a good choice for benz. 5w-30 synthetic is also good choice, it depends on what you want. either way the protection of a thinner synthetic is still much much higher than a heaver dinosaur oil.
