Performance chips?
what is this performance chip that they sell on ebay? does anyone have it. I have the euro spec chip. the guy has 100% feedback meaning everyone was happy with the chip. can the chip damage my engine? it says it gives 20 - 30 hp? is that bulls ****? need feedback

i think they are legit. They are eprom chips , he probably just got some really expensive software chip for the older cars and just copied it so its most probably good. 20-30HP on V8-V12 cars is realistic results. on my M3 they add 20HP roughly so yes it seems legit. I assuming you are referring to the ones that sell for the 93-95 cars for about $80.

Anybody care to explain how do you bring Euro spec w140 with Euro chip to US? Sounds like a lot of bull crap.
HOw much do you get from the euro chip-----1hp, why is there need to replace it?

chips are probably almost exactly the same, the only difference in power is probably due to the catalytic converter difference, not the actual chip. Ebay chips probably give gains as they promise. I bought my E30 chip off ebay for my 87 325 and it gave a good 20 HP, it was $35. price does not always reflect gains. someone should give it a shot, the guy has a money back garentee i believe. its only $80

THere are no Russian spec w140 and "Russian " MB would never just slide through the US customs. What ididot would bring OLD w140 from russia to US in the first place?
