Hey guys,I was washing my 1994 S500 Yesterday and saw a little "cap" thing on the floorboard and didnt know wher eits went till i looked more under the car and saw that right under the gas pedal was a place where the cap thing might snap into,and it did! i dont know what it does but its pushes in and out when you floor the pedal,but i dont know what it does.can any1 help me out of this issue?? till the next espisode

It's the kickdown switch. It tells the transmission control unit when you floor the pedal so it downshifts faster.

my freind you have not yet explored the possiblities of your s500 take it on a open road. and push it down all the way so it clicks. thats when u feel your 320 hp beast flying like a boat on jets.

Lol well thinks guys for the info on that,i thought it picke dup faster shifting when you floor it kinda cool i think..i love those MB Boys!

How can you tell if the kickdown switch is defective or not?

press gas pedal to floor - hard - does it click? does the transmission drop to the lowest possible gear and go like a scalded cat? yes ? it works - no - it doesnt
