1996 S500
1996 Mercedes S500 with about 160k miles. Fuel level light blinks
Even with a half tank of fuels or more my fuel level light will flash.

Well your thirty something cream puff has a failing in tank fuel level sensor which may be worth more than the value of the car---my suggestion is live with the blink!
