We have a 1999 S320. The drivers door has started popping REALLY loud - at both stops. From my searching, I assume it is the check stop. My question is...
Can I get away with disconnecting the check stop at the pin on the car until I can get it repaired? I am concerned that is is going to do more damage and we cannot really avoid using the drivers door. I am reading and watching videos on how to replace it, but I will not be able to attempt it for a week or so.
ALSO - is there any difference in the check stop for the front door vs. rear door?
THANKS
