Remote trunk release problem
Hi everyone. I'm new here and want to greet everyone and thank you for letting me be part of MBWorld.
I have a late 1997 S320L and since I got my car last year my remote trunk release won't work, both in the dash and the key remote.
Whenever I press the trunk release button in the dash what it only does is to unlock the doors but not pop the trunk. When I try the trunk release button in the key, nothing happens.
Lock/unlock works though both in my 3 button key and dash button.
What i've tried so far is check the trunk release actuator and line from the actuator going the the rear seat pse pump. Everything is good no leaks. Tested it by disconnecting the trunk release line in the pse pump
labelled FKS and connected it temporarily to the lock/unlock line. When I hit the unlock button trunk popped open. Next, while the line is disconnected pressed the trunk release dash button doors unlock but no air or vacuum in the FKS nipple where the
line is connected. I tried my friends pse pump, still won't work. Changed my PSE pump since my motor fried but still even with a new PSE trunk won't pop open and no air or vacuum in FKS when trunk release button is pressed in the dash.
I know it is not a big deal since you can just press the button in the trunk key slot to open the trunk but it just feels great when everything is working.
