OK fellow Benzers, here is my dilema. I purchased my first 95 S420 in Michigan about 5 years ago. Well it was nice then but ive since moved to Arizona, and the salt cancer is now showing more and more. Wheel wells, frame, brake lines, etc etc.... i found another 94 s420 about 5 months ago that i purchased for dirt cheap because the last owner was tired of dumping money into it... come to find out after looking at all the receipts almost half of the work performed in the receipts was actually done. thus coming to a point on where the engine actually blew a head gasket and there's pitting and corrosion on the inside area of the head. So i took it on my self to start a head gasket replacement.new valve cover gaskets, manifold gaskets, exhaust gaskets, timing chain This is the 94 94 S420 in back is the 95 also listed on my profile you can see more there. original Picks before heads removed
guides well 3 months latter and just the loss of time to finish. I have a nice unrusted 94 s420 with the top of the engine stiil off, i'm now thinking about just swapping my 95 engine to my 94 , they both look identical they engine compartments seem the same and the harness seems the same. Oh I forgot to mention the 95 is a s420L long base i guess. Will that make a difference? should i try to salvage the 95 or just swap out the engine and part out the 95.. i have worked on cars personally for a long time so im not a pro but i learn very fast with hands on. can this swap be made with no issues, meaning will everything be a easy fit, ie harness, exhaust, transmission? And afterwards finish rebuilding the 94 engine for resale or should i just part it out also. please any help would be greatly appreciated
