Exclamation 2008 CL65 amg bad engine-help

Hello, I have a 2008 CL65 amg. I was recently driving home and my car loss power and white smoke came out of the tail pipes. I took it to good Mercedes mechanic and they told me cylinder 5 wall was scored, they also mentioned fuel rail was cracked which is the on the same side of the bad cylinder. When this issue first happened the engine was making a ticking noise, now since the car has been sitting in the garage I don't hear the ticking noise once the car has been started. The Mercedes mechanic told me I am going to need another engine. My car has around 100,000 miles on it. I have been looking for a used engines however I have not been able to find any used engines with low miles. Most of the used engines I have found have around the same mileage as my current engine, I have passed on buying these engines because I didn't want the same problem to happen again. Also most of these used engines come with a 30 to 60 day warranty. Since I have not been able to find a good used engine with low miles, I though I would just have my current engine rebuilt with new pistons and having the cylinder walls re-sleeved with steel sleeves. So far I have received estimate of around $10 to $15,000 to do the work, which is right around the same cost I have seen for used engines. This has been a long grueling process, can any one help me with any advice? Thanks

What did you end up doing to get the car back on the road?

My fifty cents in a bet says the car got tossed.

OP when the 275 in my 2008 S-65 spat a main bearing shell into the chains I had no trouble locating a replacement for it. Found one in Chicago with 28K on it for $17,500. It came out of a car that ‘got flooded’ with Superduperstorm Sandy. I could see that water didn’t make it to the bottom of the rear main seal. Ran great.
