buzzing noise every 20-30 seconds with car off?
To give you a sense of what it sounds like, when I first heard it from outside the car, I thought there was an ignition problem because it kind of sounded like the buzzer you get if you open the door with the key in the ignition or with the lights on ... but it sounds like a much more muted version of it.
Since I thought it was that, I sat in the car and waited for the sound and I was surprised that it doesn't seem to be coming from inside the car. It also doesn't seem to be the fuel pump since I can turn the key and hear that - the fuel pump sounds normal.
I also tried listening with the hood open ... it doesn't sound like it's coming from the top side of the motor but it does sound like it's coming from the front - and from the outside.
To be clear, this is happening with the car cold and not started for a few days ... and it still seems to happen if I start it up while it's running and then again, as well, when I turn the car off.
Is there any other pump, motor, or process that would cycle on every 20-30 seconds if it's failing that could be making the noise?
I also had the doors unlocked.
Any suggestions of things to check if I can get it on a lift in the next few days?
thank you!
