Ok. Here's a challenge... I know little about cars but am attempting to assist a friend in Brazil who has a Mercedes S600 1994 coupe and needs to replace the wooden plate that surrounds the gear shift. We think he will need to remove the console parts to access this as we think the gear knob cannot be unscrewed and removed. That said, would the prior wooden plate be removed and the new one "super-glued" into place. Apologies for my ignorance, he doesn't speak English, and I don't speak "car". I have looked everywhere on YouTube, to no avail. Thank you for any tips. I am trying to attach two photos here to illustrate what we need to replace.
